Lauren Walsh is a sports anchor and reporter at WSMV4 News in Nashville, TN. She comes to Music City from Winston-Salem, NC, where she served as the sports director at WXII 12 News. She graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and a Sports Communications Emphasis. Lauren is a native of Medford, Massachusetts and has always been very passionate about sports, writing, and television.

Before moving to the south, she worked as the lead sports anchor/reporter at WVNY/WFFF in Burlington, Vermont for two years. While in the Green Mountain State, Lauren won a regional AP Award for her story, “Remembering a Teammate, Climbing for Connor.” Additionally, Lauren was named the National Sports Media Association Vermont Sportscaster of the Year.

After graduating college, Lauren was a sports reporter/fill-in anchor at WSYR News Channel 9 in Syracuse, New York. She also interned with NESN as a Red Sox remote production intern, where she was immersed in a live-TV atmosphere during home game broadcasts. At Syracuse University, Lauren was very active at CitrusTV, Syracuse’s student-run television station, where she had various roles in the sports department.

Lauren aspires to continuously improve her skills in the sports broadcasting field and share every story in a memorable way.
